Population: CSO Census 2022, table F1003. Dental practitioners: CSO Census 2022, table F7042, occupation 2215, people in the labour force who live in Tipperary. Residents per dental practitioner and the county ranking are our own arithmetic on those two tables. Clinic count: our survey of 75 clinics, 1–6 September 2026. CSO tables read 30 October 2026.
One dental practitioner lives in Tipperary for every 2,895 residents, against 2,210 for Ireland as a whole. Between 2016 and 2022 the number went from 54 to 58 while the population grew 5.2%, so there are more dentists per head than there were. The Census counts dentists where they live, not where they work, so dentists who commute in from another county are not counted.
With one published price in the county, a second written quote is the only way to know where a local figure sits. Ask for the price per tooth, with the tooth numbers on it.
Most people treat the six upper front teeth. At the Tipperary median of €150 per tooth that is about €900. At the lowest published price in the county it is €900; at the dearest, €900. Nationally the same six teeth work out between €750 and €4,800, which is why a single quote tells you almost nothing on its own.
Ranked against the other 19 counties where clinics publish prices, Tipperary sits #3 of 20 from lowest to highest. The lowest county median in the survey is Cavan at €150; the dearest is Clare at €600.
Ask what the price actually covers. Per tooth or per arch? Is the consultation included? Is there a written warranty? In our survey of 75 clinics, only two published a warranty on the work: Truly Dental at six years and Boyne Dental at five. Everyone else publishes a price and says nothing about what happens if it chips.
Every Tipperary clinic we found publishing a bonding price, what each figure covers, and an introduction to a Dental Council registered dentist near you.
We are not a dental practice and we do not give clinical advice. We may be paid a fee by the clinic you choose to see.

None of the Tipperary clinics in our survey publishes a finance option. Nationally, 14 of 75 clinics name Humm as their provider, and a credit union loan is often cheaper than point-of-sale finance.
The median published price among clinics we surveyed in Tipperary is 150 euro per tooth. Most people treat the six upper front teeth, which at that rate is about 900 euro. Always confirm what is included. Some prices cover a single tooth only, some include the consultation, some do not.
Across our survey of 75 Irish clinics the published range was 125 to 800 euro per tooth: more than a six-fold spread. Some of that is materials and the dentist's time. A lot of it is simply what each practice has decided to charge. The same dental group charges 130 euro in Swords and 700 euro in Mayfield, Cork, which tells you the price is not driven by cost alone.
Most sources put it at roughly four to eight years before it needs repair or replacement, depending on your bite, your habits and how it is looked after. Worth noting: in our survey of 75 clinics, only two published a written warranty on the work at all. Ask about that before you book.
Not necessarily. Dublin's median published price is 250 euro per tooth, which is not the lowest in the country. Cavan has the lowest county median in our survey at 150 euro. Travel time and follow-up appointments matter more than most people account for, so a local clinic at a fair price usually beats a cheaper one three counties away.
No. It depends on your enamel, your bite and your gum health, and none of that can be assessed from a photograph or a price list. A Dental Council registered dentist confirms what is actually possible at consultation. Anyone quoting you a firm treatment plan before examining you is guessing.
The 2022 Census counted 58 dental practitioners living in County Tipperary, up from 54 in 2016. That is one for every 2,895 residents, against one for every 2,210 across Ireland (our arithmetic on CSO tables F1003 and F7042). The Census counts where people live, not where they work, so dentists who commute in from another county are not included.
