Composite bonding in Turkey vs Ireland

Istanbul clinics list dental bonding at TL5,000 to TL8,000 a tooth on WhatClinic (WhatClinic), roughly €90 to €145 at the ECB rate of 28 October 2026 (ECB), and one Bookimed listing says around €130 a tooth (Bookimed listing for Hospitadent). Irish clinics publish €125 to €800 a tooth, median €250, and the lowest Irish prices are €125 in Cavan and Galway (our survey). For six teeth, the gap is a few hundred euro before flights, and a repair in year three happens wherever you are.

What the saving is for six teeth

At the Istanbul listings, six teeth of bonding comes to roughly €540 to €870. At the Irish median it's about €1,500; at the lowest-priced Irish clinics it's about €750. So the saving on the dental work itself is somewhere between nothing and about €950, before flights, accommodation and days off. That is a different sum from the one people see for implants or a full set of porcelain veneers, where Irish prices run into thousands per tooth and the gap is wide. Bonding is one of the cheaper treatments at home, so the travel eats most of the difference.

What's different about bonding

The Dental Council's checklist for treatment abroad

The Dental Council, which keeps the Register of Dentists in Ireland, published guidance on choosing a dentist at home or abroad (Dental Council). Its points for treatment abroad, in short:

Its warning on the legal side: if complications arise, "legal recourse may be limited or difficult to obtain". In Ireland you can check any dentist on the Dental Council's Register of Dentists (Dental Council).

Tax relief applies abroad too

Revenue allows relief on non-routine dental treatment carried out outside Ireland, provided the dentist is qualified under that country's laws, and the Med 2 still has to be completed by the dentist (Revenue). Veneers and Rembrandt-type etched fillings are on the list; routine fillings aren't. Whether bonding is certified under that heading is for the dentist.

Turkey or Ireland: questions

How much is composite bonding in Turkey?

Istanbul clinics on WhatClinic list dental bonding from TL5,569 to TL8,000 a tooth, about €100 to €145 at the ECB rate of 28 October 2026, and one Bookimed listing says around €130 (WhatClinic, Bookimed listing for Hospitadent).

How much cheaper is Turkey for bonding?

Less than for implants or porcelain veneers. Six teeth comes to roughly €540 to €870 in Istanbul before travel, against about €1,500 at the Irish median and about €750 at the lowest-priced Irish clinics.

Who fixes it if the bonding chips after I get home?

An Irish dentist can repair it, as a new patient at their own price, and a warranty from the clinic abroad depends on going back. The Dental Council's guidance says to agree in advance who pays for remedial work and whether it can be done at home.

Is there a regulator for dentists in Turkey?

The Dental Council's advice is to find out whether the country you're travelling to has a regulatory body like the Dental Council and whether registration is compulsory there, and to check indemnity insurance and qualifications.

Can I claim Irish tax relief on dental work abroad?

Revenue allows relief on non-routine dental treatment outside Ireland if the dentist is qualified under that country's laws, with a Med 2 completed by the dentist. Routine fillings don't qualify.
