Yes, whiten first, then wait at least two weeks before the bonding goes on. Composite doesn't change colour with whitening gel, so clinics whiten your natural teeth and then match the bonding to the new shade (Truly Dental, 3Dental). Two laboratory studies found the bond to freshly bleached enamel was weaker straight after whitening and back to normal by about two weeks (Topcu et al.). Whitening from a dentist costs €250 to €360 at the Irish clinics below, and in-chair whitening €315 to €800.

Key points
Yes, if you want your teeth any whiter than they are now. Once composite is on the tooth its colour is fixed: Truly Dental says "you cannot change the colour of Composite Bonding once it is placed" and recommends whitening with its home kits before bonding (Truly Dental). 3Dental: "if your planning to get teeth whitening, you'll need to do it before getting your bondings or veneers" (3Dental).
The dentist then picks a composite shade to match your newly whitened teeth. Docklands Dental puts it the same way: whitening first "means we can match the composite to a brighter shade" (Docklands Dental). If you're happy with your colour and only want to change shape, chips or gaps, you don't need to whiten at all.
At least two weeks, unless your dentist tells you otherwise. Bleaching leaves the enamel temporarily harder to bond to.
Both were laboratory studies on enamel samples, not trials in patients, so treat two weeks as the minimum your dentist will usually work to, not a rule.
Your natural teeth get lighter and the bonded ones don't, so the bonding ends up darker than the teeth around it.
The fix is to redo the bonding on each affected tooth to the new shade, at the clinic's per-tooth price (€125 to €800 in Ireland, median €250, price survey). That's why every clinic page above puts whitening first. The same goes for porcelain veneers, crowns and white fillings: whitening gel doesn't change them either (Truly Dental).

A registered dentist, for anything stronger than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide, and never on anyone under 18.
In practice that means the whitening before your bonding is done or supplied by a dentist, often the same clinic doing the bonding, which also makes timing the two-week gap easy.

Free smile previewYes, if you want them whiter. Composite can't be whitened once it's on, so clinics such as Truly Dental and 3Dental whiten first and match the bonding to the new shade (Truly Dental).
At least two weeks. Laboratory studies found bond strength to bleached enamel was significantly lower immediately and at one week, and back to normal at two weeks (Topcu et al.).
No. Whitening gel doesn't change the colour of composite. If you whiten after bonding, the bonded teeth stay the old shade and need to be redone to match.
